How to dress for your body shape has been one of the oldest question for humans. Since the discovery of clothes by the Neanderthal man who lived between 200,000 B.C.E. to about 30,000 B.C.E, clothing has become a very basic necessity of human live. The Neanderthal man learned how to make tools like spears and axes with stone, this inventions made them good hunters. They hunted the hairy mammoths, bears, deer, musk oxen, and other mammals that shared their environment. They then used the thick, furry hides of these animal to made clothes to cover their skin and this marks the beginning of clothing. Over the years human have learned to make clothes for different purpose and to fit different body shapes.
Why Human Wear Clothes
There is an old saying that "clothes make a man" that is to say the presentation of your physical self in your clothes determines your social class. Clothing takes the form of symbols used by individuals as a tool for social interaction. From the beginning, clothing has served the same basic human needs. Those needs are:
- Protection(a physical needs),
- Adornment and identification (psychological needs),
- Modesty and status (social needs).

The first step to dressing your body type is familiarizing yourself with your shape. Historically, men's bodies have been categorized by five main shapes:
- Oval Body Shape
- Triangle Body Shape
- Rectangle Body
- Rhomboid Body Shape
- Inverted Triangle Body Shape
